Transcultural Outpatient Clinic

Our treatment offer is aimed at people who suffer from psychological stress in connection with their migration and refugee experience. Stressful experiences in the country of origin and on the escape route can play a role, as well as difficulties related to the current living reality.

After diagnostic clarification and therapeutic indication, we offer outpatient psychiatric-psychotherapeutic treatments in individual or group settings, if necessary in the mother tongue with the involvement of professional interpreters.

In our multilingual, interdisciplinary treatment team (medical and psychological psychotherapists, social workers), we address both the individual and social dimensions of psychological stress in the migration and refugee process with a relationship-oriented, migration- and refugee-sensitive approach. We pursue a holistic approach, in which the subjectivity of the individual is central, while also recognizing the societal structural aspects of psychological suffering.

The treatment team has expertise in psychoanalytic-psychodynamic, behavioural, trauma, and group therapy.

We understand transcultural competence as an ongoing joint negotiation and reflection process in dealing with sociocultural diversity in the migration society.

Close cooperation with various cantonal networking partners (legal contact points, psychosocial counselling services, etc.) is an important part of our clinical work.
