Offer for Parents and their Children aged 4 to 10 Years
Who is this for?
The Parent-Child Therapy programme supports families with children aged 4 to 10, where both the child and at least one parent are experiencing mental health difficulties. The programme provides parallel treatment for both the affected parent and child, with each being treated as an individual patient. The goal is to improve the relationship between the parent and child, while reducing stress within the family. The parent learns how to manage their own emotions and set clear boundaries for the child. At the same time, the child works on strengthening their social and emotional skills. The therapy typically lasts between 12 to 16 weeks and is offered on an outpatient and day-care basis.
What do we offer?
We provide comprehensive diagnostics and various forms of therapy tailored to meet the needs of both parents and children. This includes:
- Individual therapy for the parent (outpatient): The parent receives professional psychiatric and psychotherapeutic support to address personal concerns or difficulties.
- Individual therapy for the Child (outpatient): This therapy focuses specifically on the child, addressing their unique challenges.
- Group therapy for parent and child (day-care): In this therapy, parents and children work together to develop effective strategies for optimally supporting the child. The aim is also to reduce any existing issues in the parent-child interaction. These day-care therapy sessions take place on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
Who covers the costs?
The costs for the treatments are covered by your child's mandatory basic health insurance as well as by the health insurance of the parent or the disability insurance.
