Support for Cancer Patients

Are you living with cancer or have you recently undergone cancer treatment? Cancer can significantly impact both your social life and mental well-being, affecting both patients and their families. If you're struggling with ongoing emotional challenges, the University Psychiatric Clinics (UPK) Basel can offer support. We specialise in treating the psychological effects of cancer and provide both outpatient and inpatient treatments, including individual and group therapy.

A cancer diagnosis and lengthy treatment process can be overwhelming for patients and their loved ones. Many find it difficult to regain their mental balance and may suffer from depression or anxiety. Psychotherapeutic support is crucial during this time, helping patients manage the disease and improve their quality of life.

Our Support

UPK Basel offers modern psychiatric and psychotherapeutic treatments to help patients cope with the emotional impact of cancer. Our therapies focus on adapting to the changed life situation and integrating the illness and its effects into everyday life. We also support patients as they transition back to a structured and value-oriented life, with the goal of improving overall quality of life.

Our multidisciplinary team include experts in medicine, psychology, psychotherapy, nursing, social services and medical-therapeutic care. Each treatment is tailored to your individual needs, with additional support services available that can be found on our German page here.
