Early Intervention Day Clinic (FIT)

Service for Young People Aged 15–25

Who is this for?
The Early Intervention Day Hospital (FIT) is a day-treatment service run by UPK in collaboration with the Adult Clinic and the Child and Adolescent Clinic. It supports young people aged 15–25 from Basel-Stadt experiencing, for example, mood disorders, early psychosis, difficulties with emotional regulation, autism spectrum conditions, ADHD or unclear mental health concerns.
Our aim is to provide comprehensive support during this critical stage of development.

What do we offer?
In our interdisciplinary, milieu-therapeutic day clinic, we provide comprehensive assessment, along with individual and group therapies within a structured therapeutic environment. Medication-based treatment is also available where appropriate. Through our clinic school, school-aged young people receive lessons in small groups on an hourly basis. Our in-house social services team offers additional guidance and support when needed. A key focus of our work is to promote young people’s social participation and to support them in their daily lives. The treatment programme is typically designed to last around four months.

Who covers the costs?
Treatment costs are covered by compulsory health insurance or disability insurance.
