Outpatient Clinic for Older People with Mental Health Conditions
The Outpatient Clinic for older people with mental health conditions is a service provided by the Centre for Geriatric Psychiatry (ZAP).
Distressing sleep disorders, persistent low mood and lack of drive, perceptual disturbances and a decline in cognitive functioning can occur at any age. However, in older patients, these symptoms require specific diagnostic assessment and treatment.
The outpatient service offers comprehensive diagnostics to identify the underlying causes of symptoms and to initiate appropriate treatment or recommend further steps to the referring specialist. In particular, it assesses whether a decline in cognitive function is due to depression or a dementia-related condition.
Upon request, appointments and consultations can be conducted via video conference or telephone. Referrals are accepted by the centre management assistant, Regula Brand on 061 325 53 51.
