Specialised Consultation for Toddlers and Infants

Becoming parents can bring a range of new challenges and difficulties. Infants and toddlers who cry excessively, are unsettled, or experience difficulties with sleeping or feeding can place significant strain on parents and families.

Paediatric Assessment

This interdisciplinary consultation hour is for parents who feel overwhelmed in these situations. During a detailed initial consultation, we explore the difficulties and concerns affecting the child and family. A paediatric assessment is carried out to rule out any underlying physical conditions that may be contributing to the difficulties. A second consultation focuses on the family situation and the child’s individual needs.

Developmental psychology advice and support

Further support begins with developmental psychology guidance, addressing questions such as:

  • How much crying is normal?
  • Why do children cry?
  • How much sleep does a child need at different ages?
  • How do children learn to sleep through the night?
  • What are feeding difficulties?

Our aim is to provide parents with support as quickly as possible and to strengthen their confidence, resources and parenting skills. Initial consultations take place every Monday from 2:00pm to 3:30pm.
