Specialised Consultation for Toddlers and Infants
The specialised consultation is conducted in cooperation with the University Children's Hospital Basel (UKBB).
Becoming parents can bring a range of new challenges and difficulties. Infants and toddlers who cry excessively, are unsettled, or experience difficulties with sleeping or feeding can place significant strain on parents and families.
Process
During a detailed initial consultation, the existing challenges and concerns are identified. A paediatric examination is carried out to rule out physical conditions as a possible cause.
The next phase of treatment begins with developmental psychological assessment and counselling. How much crying is normal? Why do children cry? How much sleep does a child need at different ages? How do children learn to sleep through the night? What are feeding difficulties?
It is important to us to provide parents with relief as quickly as possible and to strengthen their resources and parenting skills.
