Post-Acute Treatment - Weaning
On the U1 ward, people with substance use disorders are treated in an open inpatient setting (for all substances). This service is suitable for individuals who have already undergone inpatient physical withdrawal (post-acute) or for those seeking treatment for substance use where no acute physical withdrawal symptoms are expected (e.g. cannabis).
We work according to the principles of recovery. The individuality and personal responsibility of the patients are our top priority. We support and guide individuals in their psychosocial stabilisation and change process, meeting them where they are in their journey. The goal of treatment is to safely practice and reflect on the desired changes, as well as to establish a sustainable outpatient network for the period after the hospital stay. The interdisciplinary treatment team is specialised both in addiction disorders and in trauma-sensitive treatment approaches.
Following the inpatient stay, we offer an additional multi-week day clinic programme aimed at consolidating what has been learned under real-life conditions. Six treatment places are available for the day clinic programme, which is exclusively aimed at individuals residing in the Canton of Basel-Stadt.
Furthermore, there is the opportunity to participate in the weekly outpatient training group (ATG) on the U1 ward as part of stabilising aftercare.
