Home Treatment
In Home Treatment, we provide care directly in your home and support you in returning to your daily life. This service is available both after an inpatient stay at the UPK and without a prior inpatient stay.
How we work and what we aim to achieve
Our goal is to help you regain the ability to shape your own life. Self-determination and empowerment are central to our approach. We specifically strengthen your confidence in yourself and your ability to lead a meaningful and fulfilling life despite psychological challenges.
We address the issues that matter to you in your everyday environment. Common topics include:
- Coping with illness
- Building and maintaining social relationships
- Partnership, family life and sexuality
- Housing, daily living, routines and work
- Leisure activities
- Administration and financial matters
We place great importance on involving your family members, friends and employers in the treatment process. A stable social environment can make a significant contribution to recovery and long-term wellbeing. You and your wellbeing are at the centre of all decisions.
Who is the service for?
Adults aged 18 and over who live in the canton of Basel-Stadt. We work closely with existing healthcare professionals and institutions involved in your care.
Who covers the costs?
Treatment costs are covered by compulsory basic health insurance.
Registration
Registration happens during your inpatient stay by the treatment team at UPK Basel. We also conduct an initial assessment with you during your stay. For patients without a prior inpatient admission, referrals are accepted via the Walk-In Outpatient Clinic (by email or in person). Further planning of care takes place at your home.
